LinkedIn Analytics and Sales Navigator for developing new customers

The best content we can create is that which actually helps others 

I have written this quick blog in direct response to a question on one of our group pages 

Here is that question:

“Excluding the search tools in social media, what other methods do you utilize to search for potential opportunities? For example, do you have a technique for searching by vertical markets or SIC codes that you find helpful?

I am looking for a geographically-based search tool to key on specific businesses in vertical target markets.” 

The picture you see with this article is of a recent post I created and posted across a number of social media platforms including LinkedIn

This picture is a screenshot of the analytics report available for every post or article we publish on LinkedIn

This is gained by clicking on the views link at the bottom of your post in your feed 

You can now see the following from this analytics report;

  1. What companies viewed your post
  2. What the titles were of the people who viewed your post
  3. What were the geographic regions of the people who viewed your post…
  4. How many views, reactions, comments & shares your article has garnered so far

Now if you have simultaneously been using sales navigator to target key companies and contacts both geographically as well as by titles…

And you have been engaging in their content to create the necessary sales touches (we recommend 10 – 15 “*touchpoints”)

(*liking, sharing, commenting on their content)

Then you can begin to see the results of your efforts

The accounts you have been targeting will now begin to show up in your analytics along with titles of those you have been engaging with and even their likely geographic regions

These tools provide you with the information you need to now begin to reach out to key contacts and invite to a virtual coffee or to one of your group pages or information hubs

This is one of the key ways of creating the right conversations with the right people on LinkedIn

BUT if you are not tracking all of this you are likely missing all the cues you need to be successful

For me and as an example, I save all analytics reports from all my posts and articles for just this purpose…you can too.
